PRESS: Russian public utility tariffs to rise by 3.3% from Jul 1

MOSCOW, Jun 25 (PRIME) -- The tariffs for the Russian public utility services will grow by 3.3% on average from July 1, Izvestia daily reported on Friday quoting the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

The tariffs are raised each July 1, and each region has a threshold for the increase so that the average growth in the country does not exceed inflation. Under Russia’s social and economic development forecast the tariffs will rise by no more than 4%, but actual growth will not exceed 3.3%, a representative of the service told the daily.

The service will track changes in the bills for public utility services, and order companies to cut tariffs if it finds violations, Izvestia said.
